Finaly released

Finally released a stable version of new WordPress 2.5, and i must admit that i was very excited about new features:

all new customizable dashboard,
support for multi-file upload,
one-click plugin upgrades,
faster load times,
built-in galleries
and much more.

The WordPress.org site has also been redesigned and it looks marvellous with the new colors and design. If you plan to upgrade your blog Backup your files and database first, also i’ll recommend you that you upgrade all plugins before you upgrade. Unlike previous releases, this WordPress 2.5 upgrade involves some database changes too. You can also follow the official WordPress instructions while upgrading.

WordPress is strike again

While last post about wordpress didn’t cooled down we got another new information regarding WordPress v2.5 RC2 with new features for uploading images, and some dashboard features, also Matthew Mullenweg create little screencast about this features and i must admit that i like image uploader very much. Like i say before I can’t wait for final version released, because of the huge improvements over the 2.3.3, which i use now.

The time I have been waiting for to test new WordPress 2.5 is here. I wait patiently and finally got it.
Some features taken from WordPress.org:

A customizable dashboard, multi-file upload, built-in galleries, one-click plugin upgrades, tag management, built-in Gravatars, full text feeds, and faster load times.

Dashboard is finally redesigned and it look nicer and easier to navigate behind the scenes.

There is lot similarity to Tiger Style Administration plugin but not that similar.

The new Dashboard is focused on the most relevant tasks at hand: a quick summary of what’s published and scheduled for publication, the latest comments and incoming links, blog stats, and WordPress updates and news. You can add your own RSS feeds and edit the way information is presented so that the new Dashboard conforms to the way you use WordPress.

I love the smell of a new WordPress in the morning!

Until yesterday, I was running WordPress 2.2.x as the site engine. I was thinking of upgrading to WordPress 2.3 or named Dexter, but I too much work to do and i didn’t have any spare time. Therefore, do this yesterday since i have too much time for my self and my blog.

I didn’t have any problems and upgrading was really easy, i have some problems with some plugins ( but i eliminate that ) also my theme is 2.3 ready so i didn’t have any problem with that too . Even my admin plugins works ( it’s loads my dashboard much faster ).

This version includes native tagging support, plugin update notification, URL handling improvements, and much more. This release is named for the great tenor saxophonist Dexter Gordon. More about features and what is new you can find here.

If you spot anything that does not work or behaves in a weird way, please let me know, so I that I can investigate further.
