Happy 50 years, Smurfs!!!
They’re turning 50 without a hint of gray.
Just blue. Lots of blue. ( too bluish for me
)
The Smurfs ( originally Les Schtroumpfs in French) — led by Papa Smurf and Smurfette — kicked off a year of 50th birthday celebrations Monday with Smurfberry cake and sasparilla juice.
The late cartoonist Pierre Culliford — best known by his pen name, “Peyo” — first introduced the tiny blue figures in a comic strip in October 1958. He called them Schtroumpf; they became known worldwide as the Smurfs.
The Smurfs, forest dwellers who live in little white-capped mushroom homes, developed their own “Smurf” language in which nouns and verbs were interchanged.
Their debut on U.S. television in 1981 launched their global rise to stardom and made the Smurfs a household name. A Smurf is a Pitufo in Spanish, a Schlumpf in German, Nam Ching Ling to the Chinese, a Sumafa in Japan and Dardassim in Hebrew.
Lot of mine generations watch them and enjoy in laugh.
Peyo unfortunately died 15 years ago, gut i think that he will enjoy in birthday party as we did.
For me I’m glad that i have something that laugh me and make me happy smurftastic
Also there is some theories that Smurf are communists - it’s little bit funny to think that way, but there is a lot similarity
.
They live in village and they leader is Papa Smurf and he wears red and the rest of the Smurfs wear the SAME EXACT THING. They all eat the same food which is distributed equally, Then there are Smurfs that each have a job. Painter, Fixer, Brainy.. they all do their job and nobody else ever does it for them. They are all treated equally no matter what they do. Its not like there is a “salesmen Smurf” who sells things to “consumer Smurfs”. Then an even bigger clue, is that their arch enemy “Gargamel” always was after them, why?, because he wanted to turn them into gold for his own profit. Gargamel is a capitalist. He just wants to get the Smurfs and make gold for his own good, and nothing will stop him. You see it all makes sense know doesn’t it?

The Smurfs rock! I remember watching them all the time growing up. Can’t believe they’re 50 years old.
We used to take our kids to Canada’s Wonderland, north of Toronto. They had a section called Smurf Village that featured rides of these guys. My kids loved it.
I remember Wonderland! Don’t think they still have Smurfland though I could be wrong. I used to love the remote control cars for a buck.
Are we almost there yet? Are we almost there yet? I used to watch the episodes with the trips and wait for Papa Smurf to flip out.

I also loved Smurfs, when i was i kid i always watch them,
